Mattie, would be asleep by now. But Alfie wasn’t tired. “Go and get ready for your bath. I’ll be up in a minute,” his Mom said. Alfie crept up the stairs as slowly as he could. Each one was a step nearer the giant’s house at the top. He was going to rescue the beautiful princess. He took off his clothes and put them in the linen basket. It would make a great crow’s nest. He climbed in and began looking for pirates. “Are you ready yet?” his Mom called. He jumped out and put
on his bath robe. Now he was a boxer preparing for his big fight. He punched toward his shadow on the wall. He dodged and dived. “I’m running the bath now,” his Mom said. He heard the water running. It was a tropical waterfall. He was hunting rare animals. He held his rifle out in front of him and stalked his toy monkey. “It’s ready now,” his Mom said. He went into the steam filled bathroom. It was a heat filled jungle. He fought his way to the river, took off his robe and
jumped in. He splished and splashed up river into the sea. The waves grew stronger and higher. He saw a ship coming towards him. He climbed on board. He steered it safely to shore. The waves were gone now; he was on dry land. He rubbed all over with the fluffy towel. He was an explorer just back from a daring adventure. He put on his pajamas. They were his armor to protect him as he went to slay the dragon. Now he was ready for bed. “You were quick,” his Mom said. “Do
you want to stay up for an extra half hour?” “No thanks,” Alfie yawned. “I’m too tired.” Thank you for purchasing The Bath Time Book. As with all our books, they are always a family project.
